Description

Model 2480 is an Ethernet based video server that simultaneously captures, overlays, and streams onto Ethernet up to 16 analog video inputs. The system is capable of capturing JPEG-compressed images from all 16 channels in real time at full NTSC or PAL frame rates. An integrated 16x4 crosspoint switch enables any input signal to be routed to any of four video outputs for local display while streaming.

Block Diagram

Each analog video input signal is first converted to uncompressed digital video. The digital video frames are optionally scaled and frame rate decimated, and then a single-line text caption of up to 80 characters can be overlaid onto the video frames. The resulting composite images are converted to Motion JPEG (MJPEG) and streamed out over Ethernet. Both RTSP and HTTP stream control protocols are supported for maximum viewer flexibility.

The unit includes a built-in web server and intuitive web site for manual configuration control, and a Telnet server for controlling the unit from remote automation applications. A comprehensive API library is available to help developers and programmers quickly create automated client solutions.
