Description Model 3016 delivers full resolution, full frame rate MPEG video over an IP network. Designed primarily for security and surveillance applications, model 3016 features advanced motion detection with configurable thresholds and regions of interest. Sony optics ensure the highest quality video over IP. A wide range of stream bitrates is supported, from 400kbps to DVD quality so that video quality can be optimized for a diverse range of bandwidth and storage constraints. Any standard web browser may be used to configure the camera via its built-in HTTP server. Ethernet Protocols The 3016 supports both UDP and RTP video streaming. The UDP format (User Datagram Protocol) offers the fastest data rates at the expense of minimal error checking. The RTP format (Real Time Protocol) provides error correction and compatibility with QuickTime and Real Player. Camera Control Bit Rates and Bandwidth Higher bit rates from our MPEG compression give better quality images than lower rates. Full-size interlaced images of 30 frames/sec will start to show distortions below 1 Mbits/sec, however, image quality improves only slightly above this rate. When low bit rates are selected, the amount of distortion depends on the amount of motion in the scene. A chess game will have less distortion than a soccer game.
Software and Manuals The 3016 is configured with a standard web browser or command line via the scmd.exe executable. Zoom capabitlities are controlled command line via the Cclient.exe. executable.
