Operating instructions for 4031 DVR

When plugged into external power source, the device will start recording
automatically. The parameters will be loaded from the NOR flash, or from
a "config.txt" if one exists in the root directory on the micro-SD card.
Recordings will be placed in "DCIM/" directory, named with the date and time,
in Transport Stream format with H.264 video and AAC audio. If the video
source is not detected, the red 'LOAD' LED will be lit and recording is not
started; otherwise, recording will start and the green 'SAFE' LED will blink.

When plugged into and powered by USB port, the device will enter mass storage
mode, allowing files to retrieved or deleted from the micro SD card. When
the drive is ejected, the device will enter firmware update mass storage mode,
and the drive will appear with the volume name "Update2263". In this mode,
a firmware file can be copied and flashed to the device, as well as the clock
and NOR flash parameters can be set.

To set the clock, create a file named "clock-N.txt", where N is the offset
in hours for the current time zone. For example, PST and PDT would use
"clock-8.txt" and "clock-7.txt", respectively. The date is calculated from
the timestamp on the file (stored as GMT) adjusted by the time zone offset,
before being stored in the real-time clock.

The current NOR flash parameters will be present in the file "config.txt"
in the root directory of the drive. To set the NOR flash parameters, edit or
copy a file named "config.txt" to the device in firmware update mode. The
parameters will be read from the file and programmed into the NOR flash, and
loaded as defaults for the automatic recording mode. The NOR flash parameters
may be overridden by any parameters present in the "config.txt" file on the
micro SD card.
