Making your own VIs

Developers sometimes need Labview virtual instruments (VIs) for Sensoray boards that do not have pre-built VIs. This is not a problem, as you can easily create your own VIs. To do this, use a Labview "Call Library Function Node" for each Sensoray DLL function. These VIs may be installed under Labview's instrument library path or elsewhere if desired. Refer to Labview documentation for detailed information about configuring and using Call Library Function Nodes, VI paths, and associated topics.

Each VI calls a DLL function and therefore depends on the DLL, which in turn depends on a device driver. Before running your VIs under Labview, make sure you install the latest versions of the Sensoray DLL and device driver for your board. Typically these are included in the board's software development kit (SDK), which you can find on the Downloads tab on the board's web page.
