Model 4067 is a compact HD digital video recorder (DVR) designed for embedded OEM applications. It captures and records SDI and HD-SDI video and stereo audio to a microSD card. Date and time are maintained by a real-time clock with battery backup. To implement a complete embedded DVR, simply connect power and provide a microSD card.

Simplified block diagram

Stream formats

The board captures video and compresses it to high-profile H.264. Audio from the external microphone or stereo line inputs is digitized and compressed using AAC encoding. The compressed A/V streams are multiplexed and recorded as MP4 or transport stream (.TS) files on a user-supplied microSD card, with file names automatically generated by the real-time clock. Bit rates can be tailored to match application requirements and storage capacity. The 4067 can be set up to start recording automatically after power up.

User interface

The DVR has a device USB 2.0 port. When connected to a host computer, the 4067 behaves as a USB storage device, allowing downloading recorded videos without having to remove the microSD card, making configuration changes, and updating the firmware.
